	Welcome to the Homepage of Sheffield Branch The objectives of the British Cactus & Succulent Society (BCSS) are to promote the study, conservation, propagation and cultivation of cacti and other succulent plants. Membership of the BCSS is currently about 3,000 and includes the whole range from novice window-sill growers to experts. Membership of the Society is open to all. The Society was formed in 1983 by the amalgamation of the two major cactus and succulent societies in the UK, The National Cactus and Succulent Society (NCSS), and The Cactus and Succulent Society of Great Britain (CSSGB), both of which had long histories. The Sheffield branch of the BCSS is now entering its 64th year of existence and is one of over 90 branches located throughout the United Kingdom. We have an active programme of local events supplemented by regional and national events across the country. We are a member of Zone 3 and are partnered with branches in Bradford, Bridlington, Hull, Huddersfield, Leeds and York. Coming Soon June 4^th: Sheffield Branch are invited to attend the annual barbecue at Abbey Brook Cactus Nursery, Matlock. Brian & Gill Fearn are our gracious hosts for the evening and offer good food & wine whilst opening up their private collection for viewing. The sales greenhouse is also open for those of us with any spare room in our greenhouses! July 9^th: Mexico with D.Minnion. August 13^th:Euphorbias in South Africa with D.Porter. September 10^th: Mesembryanthemaceae with E.Harris.
